Detailed Information

The Assembly Load Options group provides the following options for loading assemblies:

Option

Description

Load Structure Only

Loads the structure of the assembly and subassemblies, not the components.

Use Partial Loading

Loads components partially, unless they must be fully loaded because of other options, such as Load Interpart Data.

Use Lightweight Representations

Loads lightweight facsimiles that shadow the real model. They are typically placed in reference sets to allow assemblies to display the shadow rather than the full model. They can improve the performance and memory utilization of assemblies. For additional information, see Representations overview.

Load Options

Displays the Assembly Load Options dialog box.

Revision Rule

Provides a revision rule list to let you determine the components loaded into the assembly according to revision status. The revision rules available in NX are defined in Teamcenter. Revision rules are delivered with the software but can be created and customized for your site.

The following are the revision rules delivered with the software:

  • Any Status; No Working — Loads components that have any release status.

  • Any Status; Working — Loads components that have any release status first. If those are not found, then loads components that do not have a release status (working). Working components are still work-in-progress and have not been released.

  • Latest Working — Loads precise components (components with the specific released status or working configuration when the assembly was last saved) first. If those are not found, then loads working components. If those are not found, then loads components that have any released status.

  • Latest by Alpha Rev Order — Loads components according to the alphanumeric order of the Item Revision ID. Loads the latest one.

  • Latest by Creation Date — Loads components according to the creation date of the Item Revision. Loads the latest one.

  • Precise Only — Loads components with the specific released status or working configuration when the assembly was last saved.

  • Precise; Any Status — Loads precise components. If those are not found, then loads components that have any released status.

  • Precise; Working — Loads precise components. If those are not found, then loads components that are work-in-progress (not released).

  • Working (Curr Group); Any Status — Loads components that are work-in-progress (not released) and owned by the current user's group. If those are not found, then loads components that have any released status.

  • Working (Curr User); Any Status — Loads components that are work-in-progress (not released) and owned by the current user. If that is not found, then loads components that have any released status.

  • Working; Any Status — Loads components that are work-in-progress (not released). If that is not found, then loads components that have any released status.

You can modify, change, and create revision rules in the Teamcenter PSE. In the PSE, choose ToolsRevision RuleView/Set Current or Create/Edit to see the list of revision rules and create or modify existing ones.

Note:

For additional information on the definition of the revision rules delivered with the software and how to create new ones, see the Teamcenter PSE documentation.

Assembly Load Options dialog box

The Assembly Load Options dialog box provides options for loading an assembly into NX.

Note:

Options selected in this dialog box override similar options in the Assembly Load Options group, such as the revision rule selected.

The Part Revisions group contains the following options:

Option

Description

Load as Saved

Loads the same set of components as when the assembly was last saved.

Revision Rule list

Displays a list of revision rules that lets you determine the components loaded into the assembly according to revision status. For information on the revision rules delivered with the software, see Revision Rule.

Date

Enter the date if the revision rule has an effectivity date. If Today is displayed, the configuration is the current date and time.

Note:

For additional information, see the Teamcenter PSE documentation.

Set Unit Number

Available only if it applies to the selected revision rule.

Sets a unit number requirement for a selected revision rule. Can be used to set effectivity for a series of product or major module of a product.

Note:

For additional information, see the Teamcenter PSE documentation.

Unit Number

Available only if it applies to the selected revision rule.

Specifies the unit number when the Set Unit Number option is selected.

The unit number entry specifies a unit number to match. Typically a unit number identifies an end product or major module of a product.

Note:

For additional information, see the Teamcenter PSE documentation.

Variant Configurations

Loads different assembly configurations. For additional information, see Loading Variant Configurations.

For additional information on the other groups in the Assembly Load Options dialog box, see Assembly Load Options.
