Options

Define Search

Look For:

Select the type of item the query is looking for. By selecting the correct type you can narrow your search to a manageable list.

The Any Object query searches for any of the NX dataset types, but does not look at Items or Item Revisions.

Find Now

Performs the search based on the search criteria.

New Search

Starts a new search. Any previous search criteria is cleared.

Save As

Saves the search criteria for future use.

Search String

Id

Specifies the part number.

Group name

Name

Specifies the name of the model, dataset, Item Revision, and so on.

You can use the following wildcard characters:

  • ? – Use this as a substitute for one character.

  • * – Use this as a substitute for more than one character.

Description

Specifies the contents of the description attribute for the item, if it contains one.

Revision

Specifies the revision.

Date Criteria

Date Criteria

Specifies if you want to search by the date it was last modified or the date it was created. Displays the Date Type list.

Date Type

Specifies how you want to search. Select a specific day, a range of dates, an on or after date, and so on that keys on the creation date or last modified date of an item.

Owner

Owning User

Specifies items that belong to a specific owner. You can select from those available in the Teamcenter database.

Owning Group

Specifies items that belong to a specific group. You can select from those available in the Teamcenter database.

Status

Release Status

Sets the release status based on the release levels used at your site.

Browse

Look In

Specifies where you want to look for the items found during a search:

  • Teamcenter displays the last search and the searches you have saved that are stored in Teamcenter.

  • My Searches displays the searches you have saved.

  • Last Search displays the contents of the last search you performed.

Browse window

Search items found are listed with columns that identify attributes of the items, such as number, revision, and so on. Right-click on any column to add or remove columns, configure the order of columns, or reset all to the default.

Result

Number

Displays the item ID, revision, and name of the item you have selected in the Browse window.

More Results

Displays the number of items found that met your search criteria. The number of results that are displayed at one time is determined by the following customer default:

  • Search Result per Page

    (File→Utilities→Customer Defaults→Teamcenter Integration for NX→General, Browse tab)

Preview

Provides a graphic display of the item you have selected in the Browse window.

Properties

Provides information, such as type, owner, access, and so on about the item you have selected in the Browse window.
